Characteristics of Ductile Iron Manhole Cover

1. Good resilience: The impact value of medium carbon steel is very fine, more than 10 times that of gray cast iron.

2. Strong corrosion resistance: In the water spray corrosion test, the corrosion amount in 90 days is only 1/40 of steel pipes and 1/10 of gray iron pipes. The service life is twice that of gray iron pipes and five times that of ordinary steel pipes.

3. Good plasticity: Elongation ≥ 7/100, similar to high carbon steel, while the elongation of gray cast iron material is zero.

4. High intensity: The tensile strength ó b is ≥ 420MPa, and the yield strength is ≥ 300MPa, which is the same as low carbon steel and three times that of gray cast iron material.
The strength of ductile iron is equivalent to that of cast steel. Ductile iron has a high yield strength of at least 40k, while cast steel has a yield strength of only 36k. In most municipal applications, such as water, salt water, steam, etc., the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of ductile iron exceed those of cast steel.The main application areas are: municipal roads, highways, communication, electricity, water conservancy, communities, schools, and various parks.

5. Better anti-theft and security performance:
The tensile strength and pressure resistance of ductile iron hole cover tweezers are similar to steel, so they are called cast steel.
